Dr Georgina Clutterbuck
About Me
I am a physiotherapist who is passionate about supporting children with disability to participate in physical recreation and sport. I enjoy sharing my real-world experiences with the next generation of physiotherapists to help them develop pragmatic solutions to challenging problems.

My research explores the effectiveness of practitioner-led, peer-group sports interventions to support children with disabilities, helping them transition from health-focussed interventions into long-term participation in community sport. I designed and evaluated the Sports Stars intervention for children with cerebral palsy in a Queensland-wide randomised-controlled trial and qualitative follow-up; with the positive results reported in conferences across North America, Europe and Australasia.
My current research explores the effectiveness of practitioner-led, peer-group sports interventions within different cultures and for children with other disabilities.

Education
I received my PhD in paediatric physiotherapy from the University of Queensland in 2020. Prior to that, I completed my Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Hons I) in 2011 at the University of Queensland. I am also a qualified children's fitness instructor.
Employment
Currently, I am a lecturer at the University of Queensland. Previously, I worked in similar roles at Charles Sturt University and the University of Western Sydney. I have worked clinically in government and not-for-profit sectors as well as in my own private practice for close to a decade.
